First of all you should get familiar with some necessary shapes like a circle and a square. Draw a line at the bottom of either the circle or an oval to create the jaw of the face. Draw two thin lines from the lower edge of the face to make a neck of the cartoon person. Now go for drawing of the body of your cartoon person. Sketch a trapezoidal shape and cut it into two pieces. Make upper piece look smaller than the lower one. If you are drawing a cartoon girl then you can draw a beautiful dress and add some frills on it. If it is going to be a cartoon boy then draw a pant and a shirt. Then go for arms and legs and your cartoon person is ready to rock.
